Mark Russo

Mark Russo, Meteorologist and founding member of Chesapeake Weather Services, is primarily responsible for monitoring global weather patterns and conditions that could impact the supply/demand of energy and agriculture. Other responsibilities include providing severe/hazardous weather support for Chesapeake operations and employee safety.

Prior to establishing Chesapeake Energy Services in 2003, Russo provided similar energy/agriculture risk management services as a meteorologist with Citigroup/Smith Barney for five years.

Russo holds a bachelor's degree in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University, has advised the National Academies of Science/National Research Council regarding NOAA weather and climate data, and has served as President of the Chicago Chapter of the American Meteorological Society.  Additionally, he has appeared on The Today Show, CNN, and Fox National News and speaks regularly to local and state farm organizations.
